Would you like to take a leading role in THEMA’s work with data?
Data Engineer / Data Scientist
Søknadsfrist: 28. februar 2022 23:59
THEMA is a leading consultancy in the renewable energy industry. We work across the value chain and our employees gain a unique, holistic understanding of the industry's challenges and opportunities.
The energy system needs to be transformed in the coming decade. We help our clients navigate the path to a sustainable society. Our clients are primarily based in the Nordics and Continental Europe and include power producers, network companies, electricity suppliers, governments, industry organisations and investors.
THEMA is looking for a professional candidate with a strong focus on data handling who wants to contribute to our market analysis work. The successful candidate will contribute to several data-related activities within THEMA:
- Helping develop THEMA’s new database architecture,
- Contributing to and maintaining THEMA’s python library,
- Contributing to market analysis, for example developing THEMA’s power market model and carrying out analysis on power markets, the EU Emissions Trading System, Guarantees of Origin, and more,
- Supporting clients in data-related consultancy projects,
- Working closely with THEMA’s market analysis team, and
- Potentially contributing to developing a new web portal to publish THEMA’s data-related products, such as power market projections.
We need you to be self-driven, independent and curious, with a structured approach to work. You should be eager to develop new skills, proactive and able to both drive the continuous improvement of models and develop new means to improve our quantitative analysis work. You have to be a team player. With us, you’ll be part of a team comprising the best consultants in the industry and we need you to help further strengthen our position in the power sector.
We are looking for candidates who have:
- A master's degree in computer science, software engineering, mathematics, statistics or similar,
- 0–5 years experience in software development, data science, data engineering, quantitative analysis or similar,
- Good programming skills and preferably experience with Python—knowledge of mathematical optimisation and model simulations is an advantage, but not a requirement,
- Knowledge of databases (an advantage rather than a requirement),
- The ability to collect, analyse and interpret complex quantitative data and information,
- A desire to work in teams with colleagues and clients.
With us, you will get to:
- Take a leading role in THEMA’s data-related activities,
- Work with demanding and important issues at the forefront of the energy transition,
- Work closely with THEMA's experts covering various disciplines and in close dialogue with our clients,
- Enjoy working with a variety of clients on different issues,
- Work in a pleasant and informal work environment, and
- Participate in fun activities during and outside of working hours.
If this is something for you, please send an application with your CV and grades by February 28th. Selected applicants will be contacted for an interview, in which we can get to know each other better and find out if we are a good match.
