Quantitative Analyst

The Nordic Origination department has more than 30 employees located in Oslo, Trondheim, Stockholm and Espoo and is responsible for a customer portfolio of more than 60 TWh in yearly sales and structured trading activities.

 

Its business activities and customer solutions are crucial for Statkraft given that most of the company’s energy exposure is linked to the Nordic markets. Moreover, Statkraft’s new strategy implies a considerable growth of the customer business and Nordic Origination is expected to contribute by increased sales and new business ideas. 

 

A section within The Nordic Origination department is the “Market Access” department, currently consisting of 6 FTEs, all located in Trondheim.

 

 

Working in the Market Access Nordics department

 

The portfolio team in Trondheim trades financial and physical contracts in the Nordic power market. With the increase in business and more focus on new IT tools to better serve our clients and trading partners, we will strengthen the portfolio team that can help us to develop new concepts and services.

 

About You: 

 

We look for a forward leaning Quantitative Analyst with the essential skills to future-proof our business and renewable energy solutions. You are a positive, social, responsible team player looking for a challenge.

 

Responsibilities: 

 

  • Develop and continuously improve analytical tools for pricing and portfolio management  
  • Work closely with team members in internal and external analysis functions to refine and leverage market know-how and views 
  • Closely cooperate with originators and business developers in designing new products and solutions

 

Your profile

 

  • Master’s degree in Computers, Business, Finance, Science, Engineering, Math, Physics or similar 
  • Excellent Programming experience with Python
  • Interest for financial and commodities markets
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • We appreciate a motivated and proactive attitude, combined with the ability to work independently and in teams 
  • Fluent in English both written and spoken. Proficiency in a Nordic language would be an advantage.
