Astrup Fearnley Code (AFCODE) is looking for smart and talented students for summer internships 2023. We are a cutting-edge software development, IT management, and research company. We are a fully owned subsidiary of Astrup Fearnley AS with over 150 years of history and insight. What are we looking for?
We are looking for students eager to join our development team as either a full stack developer or a data scientist.
What will you do (full stack developer intern)?
During a summer internship in development, you will work closely with our experienced full stack developers building applications for the shipping industry. You will learn about Next.js, React, GraphQL, Node.js and Typescript. You will be part of an agile team that design, iterate and builds applications together.
What will you do (data science intern)?
During a summer internship in data science, you will work closely with our experienced data scientist, exploring the vast amount of ship data we have. You will learn about the Automated Identification System (AIS) and how we extract insights from it. We are using state of the art data science tools hosted on the Microsoft Azure platform, which you will learn how to use. You will build algorithms and analyze data to provide us with greater insight into the global trading patterns.

You are a curious, talented, and motivated student that are eager to learn more about the shipping industry.
Qualifications:
- Two- or one year left of your master thesis in computer science, mathematics, physics, marine technology, engineering and ICT, cybernetics, or similar subjects
- Strong academic records
- Programming skills
- Web development experience (full stack developer intern)
- Programming skills in Python, R and/or SQL (data science intern)
